Well the rat bastards I used to work for didn’t block my unemployment claim like I half-expected them to do. I get the state maximum which is…are you ready…$275 per week. Not that I’m complaining. Especially since I saw an ad on CL for someone who can routinely carry 60 pounds of chemicals up and down stairs at a warehouse with the stunning salary of $200 per week. That’s right, $200 per week to be exposed to chemicals. I get more doing nothing than some poor schmuck working at a chemical warehouse. There in lies the problem. A lot of people would rather sit at home for 99 weeks than kill themselves for a lesser amount. I don’t blame them. I don’t advocate the whole “livable wage” crap but let’s be real.$800 a month won’t pay for a thing down here.

My stint on unemployment may be short-lived since I have two potential jobs lined up. However, at least I can keep the bill collectors at bay until I get a paycheck. This economy sucks ass (I’ve been on unemployment twice under Obama) and we need to kick those socialist assholes out of office in November. I’ll take Mitt or Newt over Obama. Hell I’d even have crazy-ass honey badger Ron Paul over Obama. All I know is that come November, we need to kick the squatters out of the White House and put an adult in charge.

Since I’ve been unemployed, I’ve spent a lot of time reading the news. Most of what I read has to do with the GOP crop of candidates. My new favorite hobby is harassing Ron Paul supporters. Yeah, I know it’s a cheap thrill but it keeps me out of trouble. I’ve seen many a nut job (some I’m related to) but the Paul supporters take the cake. Below are actual comments made by Paul supporters.

If Paul doesn’t get the Republican nomination then I’m afraid I’ll have to go with Obama. He’s not good…not at all, but I still say he’s better than any of those other lying, venom spitting, ignorant Republicans.

This article mentions Krauthammer and Frum; two Zionists that hate Ron Paul. Why didn’t Brad Knickerbocker get someone else’s opinion?

Ron paul got the most support and best feedback on the web…. why do you think this year they want to censor the net and take full control of it? open your eyes they fear Ron paul and “WE” the people.

Because I frequent a lot of conservative sites, I’ve been getting inundated with emails from groups that support various candidates. The one that is really pissing me off is “Conservative Byte.” Now, I understand they sell advertising to whoever has money but I really wish they’d stop selling our email addresses to Ron Paul supporters. I never, ever voting for that whack job so sending me emails about how he’s a “Man of Faith,” just annoys me.

Job Search 101

I hate job hunting. Especially down here where I am way over-educated and over-qualified for 99% of the jobs. Yesterday, I went down to the Job Center. I had to make an appointment to come in and meet with people to draft a resume. I already have a resume so I’m not sure what they can help me with. I told the lady behind the desk that I’m too educated and she said, “That happens a lot down here.”

However, I have an interview today doing contract lawyer work for Oklahoma clients in the realm of debt relief and bankruptcy. I’m sure it will pay more than the whopping $20 an hour I was making at the House of Wax. Speaking of which, during my termination meeting, I was expected to explain why I was curt with the clients and acted like I didn’t care. Not true but I couldn’t explain that while crying. Oh well, they can deal with it as my only crime was covering up for other people’s incompetence. They’ll discover that soon enough.

The Problem With “Conservatives”

Now, before anyone has a conniption, let me explain the title. I’m talking about the hard core right which still doesn’t seem to get the idea that MOST of the country is middle of the road. I bring this up because I follow a conservative commentator on Twitter who made a remark about “principles versus electability.” Look, principals are great BUT they won’t get you elected. I mean, if you’re anti-abortion or whatever, that’s fine but don’t think that alone will get you elected.

Some people won’t vote for anyone who isn’t exactly like them. You will never find a candidate with ALL of the same ideals that you have. If that’s the case, you want God and not a human. And if you find that person, he/she has as much chance of getting elected as my dog. Why? Because his or her “values” do not jibe with the regular American citizen.

I view the presidential election process like a job interview. I view them as, “Which candidate do I think will do the best job”? I don’t give a rat’s ass if he/she worships trees and swears like a sailor on shore leave. I want someone with common sense who can run the world’s largest military and one of the world’s largest economies without screwing everything up and kowtowing to our enemies. It’s a job not an application for Pope.

Reality is that the citizens of this country do not like fanaticism in any form, be it from the left or the right. Continually berating an electable candidate like Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney because they aren’t your flavor of religion or whatever means another 4 years of Obama. I’m sorry but I would vote for Attila the Hun before I’d vote for Obama or not vote. There are “conservatives” out there who have said they’ll stay at home or vote for Obama rather than “compromise their principles.” Ever heard the phrase “cutting off your nose to spite your face”? That’s what the “my candidate or no one” people are doing.

If the far right can’t deal with Romney or whoever the candidate might be and choose not to vote, don’t bitch about another 4 years of Obama. It will be YOUR fault if he gets re-elected.
